As some of you might know, the yearly Mad Scientist Awards is coming up in the story soon. However, I'm still hashing out the awards list. Here's what I've got so far:

The 'Top Three'

Maddest Scientist of the Year
Most Evil Madsci
Best Madsci Overall

The Awards

Best Bio-splicer (aka, the Biohazard award)

The Master Chemist Award

Best Mechanizer

Best Hacker

Best Manipulator

Best Henchman

Most Attractive Femme Fatale

Best Puppet-Master

Best Pyrotechnics or Explosion

Best Conspiracy

Best One-Liner

Best Dramatic Monologue

Best Lair

Sheer Gall

Most Original Invention

Most Complicated or Wacky Doomsday Device

Best Laughter (can be sinister, evil or maniacal)

Most Nefarious Plan

Most Complicated Plan

Most Far-Reaching Plan

Best Successful Plan

Best Creation (traditionally awarded to creator; special circumstances may apply if creation is sentient)

Greatest Monster/s (as above, traditionally awarded to creator.)

Best Experiment (this refers to the experiment; if the result is alive and more complex than bacteria, it falls under Best Creation.)

Most Spectacular Death (near-death and death with resurrection are included in this category.)

Most Genre-Savvy

Most Wanton Destruction

Order of Frankenstein (one of your recent plots must have succeeded, partly or fully by intention. No technicality succeeders allowed.)

Style Award (most style and ingenuity shown while wreaking havoc)

Most Stylish Madsci (personal appearance award)

Special Awards

Miss Un-Congeniality (given dynamically at the ceremony. You can't be nominated for this one.)

Best-Dressed Henchman (given dynamically at the ceremony. You can't be nominated for this one.)

Up and Coming Madsci (given dynamically ditto. You can be nominated for this, however.)

Good Madsci (gag award. Is traditionally given with a 'Fire At Will' order.)

Best Dramatic Entrance (given dynamically etc etc etc. Everyone's eligible for this one.)

Worst Experiment Failure (gag award.)

Most Idiotic Stunt (gag award.)

Curses! Foiled Again!' award (lowest succeed/fail ratio - gag award.)

What do you think? Have I missed anything? Does anything need tweaking? (Note: The exact names of the awards aren't final.) Is there something redundant in the batch?

Let me know!

One final suggestion that came to me: There should be a special award given to anyone who successfully upstages the ceremony and manages to steal an award from its rightful recipient. I can envision the award never having been won before, mostly because any mad that tries to take things away from another mad with a ton of other mads getting caught in the crossfire is probably going to get blasted.

Sounds good to me!
ANd no award stealing! It would disqualify you from receiving any awards, methinks.

I think you've got everything covered. Hee, I'm picturing the invitations being delived now-mailboxes exploding, opening the letter and getting poisoned(teach you right for not taking the proper precautions).,ect.

Oh, this is going to be the highlight of the social season.

I think you have far too many awards. Most people here are in a category all by themselves, making them unchallenged in the awards.

Oh,pooh! The more the merrier! And for all we know So It Begins may throw some NPC's into the storyline. Helen and Dave, the various conspiracies, hmmm...But if it is just us-

Yes, it's a lot of awards. And that should nicely insure we'll be at each other's throats.

Many prizes or few, this'll be fun.

Well, *obviously* the main focus is the Big three!
Everything else is for fun, anyways.

Note: Just because you're the only ones here doesn't mean you're the only ones eligible to win awards. Helen + Dave Narbon will almost certainly be there. I tried to invite Agatha Heterodyne (I'm not sure if she's coming yet.) Professor Madblood will probably show up. I think I've finally managed to find the Time Traveler. And, (due in part to the virus) there are a lot of unknowns and new Mads out there-- it might just be that some awards will be won by characters you've never even heard of.

Chic definitely needs a new outfit.
And I'm getting the germ of an idea for a grand entrance.

All those illustrious names-wow. An honor-no, a Dis-Honor Roll of greats.

Without a doubt the social event of the season.

I just got this mental image of Willie the redneck mad at the awards. In his best overalls.

Thanks, Now I need to go gouge my eyes out.

I'd rather see Dave Davenport in a cocktail dress.

I hear he went in one a few years ago. He had been gender-swapped earlier but the effect wore off half-way through. Took it like a champ, and kept on keeping on.

Oh my, that's pretty classy.
Personally, I don't know If I could do it. I *hate* being gender swapped.

That, and being Nice brings with it a certain level of. . . . . thick-headed ness.
Just about some things. . . . especially as it always seems like such a nice gesture.
