Dead right on that I WROTE a long diary entry about it Boiling down to "glad she's having fun but there are all kinds of really basic reason that if she's boxing somebody who can stand and is'nt playing around she's a beer can against a sleghammer. Leverage and leg musscles are a big plus to a boxer!
That said I quickly E-Mailed the woman a link to Hell on wheel as our prospectives are diffrent

My verdict? While its a good workout for the upper body, it should never be seen as fair. Heres why.

1. The person not in a wheel chair has full motion in all angles. The person in a wheel chair does not without moving said chair and that is very slow. (note how the chair lady had to twist awkwardly when she was being hit from the side.

2. A person in a wheel chair has a sizable space between their body and where their opponent can stand. The legs extended out are what gives you that so a punch automatically has less range. Sure they can still land a hit, but not without either bending slightly or sacrificing power. (remember, you don't try to touch the person, you try to punch through the person).

It was probably real, but again, I do not expect to see a special Olympics boxing competition anytime soon.

I agree that it's a good exercise. I don't think it was meant as more than that, or if it was, only as a sign of progress and not as an end all be all. Of course, it also give me some Mad science ideas, but that's not the point.
